On 10, 11 & 12 December 2012, Art Motile will present a three day programme on artist residencies and artist mobility in Europe, with Holland as an invited country.

For three days this December, Art Motile will host an exciting event exploring the possibilities open to artists looking to participate in residency programmes. Kindly hosted by Nau Ivanow, AIR Array will combine a two day workshop with a one day conference, and will feature guest speakers from a variety of art institutions. The event will have a special focus on the residency scene in Holland, and we are happy to welcome our partners from Trans Artists, who will join us to share their knowledge. Other contributors to the event include Fundación Interarts, Artistas Visuales en Red, RAIR Rotterdam Artist in Residence, Buitenwerkplaats residency, and artist Lúa Coderch.

Workshop: Residencies and Artist Mobility in Europe for Visual Artists

10 & 11 December 2012. Time: 16h to 20h.

During this workshop we will consider what should be taken into account before, during and after an artist does a residency, while discussing the models and opportunities currently existing in Spain and Europe.

Registration: free, limited to a maximum of 20 people.

16:30h: A.I.R. programmes: what, how and why. Models of residencies and considerations to take into account before, during and after doing a residence. Presented by Heidi Vogels from Trans Artists.

18:15h: A.I.R. programmes in Europe and presentation of the “Browser of residencies and art production spaces in Europe”. Presented by Raquel Camera, collaborator of Artistas Visuales en Red and coordinator of the project Browser of residences.

19:30h: Evaluation of the session.

Session Two: 11 December

16:00h: Presentation of the programme of the session.
16:15h: A.I.R. programmes in Spain. Presented by Marta Gracia of Art Motile.

18:00h: Artist mobility programmes in Europe. Presented by Jordi Baltà and Dace Kiulina from Foundation Interarts.

18:00h: Rotterdam Artist in Residence network. Presented by Maaike Gottschal, coordinator of RAIR Rotterdam Artist in Residence, network of residences of Rotterdam (by Skype).

19:00h: A Dutch residence: Buitenwerkplaats. Presented by Dagobert Bergmann and Maud Aarts, directors of the artistic residence Buitenwerkplaats in Holland.
19:30h: An artist in Holland. Artist Lúa Coderch, recipient of the Hangar (Barcelona) – Smart Project Space (Amsterdam) exchange programme grant 2012.
20:00h: Questions and answers and end of the conference.

AIR ARRAY: Meeting of AIR Programmes and Mobility Workshop for Artists

Art Motile and Matadero Madrid present AIR ARRAY, a three-day event focused on artist in residence programmes and artist mobility. The event consists of two main activities: a two-day meeting for AIR programmes and a half-day mobility workshop for artists. The event will take place on the 9th, 10th and 11th of March 2015 at Matadero Madrid and Casa de Velázquez - Académie de France à Madrid.
