New call for artists' studios at La Escocesa, Barcelona

La Escocesa, an art factory in Barcelona, has announced their seventh open call for visual artists to secure three working spaces. The residencies are for one year, renewable up to three years.

La Escocesa is a centre for artistic production which is focused primarily on visual arts (painting, sculpture, printing, design, graffiti, ephemeral architecture, installation, and other disciplines), and is located in the neighbourhood of Poblenou, a former industrial textile quarter in Barcelona.

La Escocesa is offering the following for interested applicants:

• Three spaces available from 1st December 2012.
• Each studio measures 7 x 5 metres.
• Monthly price: €100.

To ensure equal conditions and the quality of the projects, the selection will be made by a jury composed of six members with the following structure:

Three external members:
• Antoni Miralda, artist.
• Jose Antonio Carulla, (N2galería, Barcelona)
• Esther Montoriol (Esther Montoriol Gallery, Barcelona).

One member of the Institute of Culture, Barcelona City Council.

Two internal members from the Association of Ideas / La Escocesa:
• Diego Mallo, artist.
• Zosen, artist.

AIR ARRAY: Meeting of AIR Programmes and Mobility Workshop for Artists


Art Motile and Matadero Madrid present AIR ARRAY, a three-day event focused on artist in residence programmes and artist mobility. The event consists of two main activities: a two-day meeting for AIR programmes and a half-day mobility workshop for artists. The event will take place on the 9th, 10th and 11th of March 2015 at Matadero Madrid and Casa de Velázquez - Académie de France à Madrid.
