As part of their common goal to promote contemporary performing arts, La Central del Circ and Antic Teatre have launched a new call for a research and production residency focused on circus performance. Both organisations will offer up their facilities and provide financial support to the selected project.

The call is looking for circus related proposals that research and develop new multidisciplinary languages, with the aim of providing support and facilities to innovative creators whose projects move away from usual methodologies, techniques and resources.

Starting in November 2012, the selected project will be developed through to the end of 2013.

La Central del Circ is based in Fàbrica de Creació de Circ de Barcelona, a workspace and support platform for circus arts. La Central del Circ supports artistic projects through the varying stages of creation, management, production and distribution, promoting the development of new artistic trends and generating synergies with other art forms.

Antic Teatre is one of the key reference points for independent performing arts in Barcelona, a resource centre for multi-disciplinary art, dedicated to research, innovation and the development of new performing languages. Its mission is to support and encourage experimentation, creation, production, exhibition, promotion and dissemination of professional performing and multi-disciplinary artists. Antic Teatre is focused on new body and movement languages, the use of new technologies in performing arts and new dramaturgies that break with mainstream techniques, methodologies and performing languages.

October 1st 2012.
