For the fourth consecutive year, Can Xalant artist-in-residence programme has organised this contest to award one grant aimed at artists and researchers from Mataró –individuals or collectives - to develop a visual arts project in any format or medium, or a theoretical research project in the field of visual arts (exhibition, publication, teaching materials, etc).

The winning project must focus on the city of Mataró - its people, landscape, history, urban planning - and will take place from July to December 2012. The presentation will be programmed during the first quarter of 2013.

The winner will have up to €2,500 (minimum €600, including taxes) for production expenses and fees that will be fixed depending on the project. The money will be managed directly by the winner, and after the project takes place it must be justified with the corresponding invoices. The grant also provides a studio and the use of resources and facilities at Can Xalant. It is essential that the project specifies the equipment necessary for production, up to a maximum cost of €1500 by current prices (see website), as well as a program and timetable for completion.

A commission of experts will select the winning proposal.

Deadline:

June 1st 2012.
