La Escocesa, an art factory in Barcelona, has announced their sixth ​open call for visual artists to secure three working spaces. The residencies are for one year, renewable up to three years.

La Escocesa is a center of artistic production which is focused primarily on visual arts (painting, sculpture, printing, design, graffiti, ephemeral architecture, installation, among other disciplines), and is located in the neighbourhood of Poblenou, a former industrial textile quarter in Barcelona.

The studios available include:

• 2 spaces available from June 2012.
• 1 space available from beginning July 2012.
• Each studio measures 7x5 meters.
• Monthly price: €100.

To ensure equal conditions and the quality of the projects, the selection will be made ​by a jury composed of six members with the following structure:

Three external members:
• Javier Mariscal, artist.
• Jose Antonio Carulla (N2gallery, Barcelona).
• Esther Montoriol (Esther Montoriol Gallery, Barcelona).

One member of the Institute of Culture, Barcelona City Council.

Two internal members (the Association of Ideas / La Escocesa):
• Diego Mallo, artist.
• Stephan Guillais, artist.

AIR ARRAY: Meeting of AIR Programmes and Mobility Workshop for Artists

Art Motile and Matadero Madrid present AIR ARRAY, a three-day event focused on artist in residence programmes and artist mobility. The event consists of two main activities: a two-day meeting for AIR programmes and a half-day mobility workshop for artists. The event will take place on the 9th, 10th and 11th of March 2015 at Matadero Madrid and Casa de Velázquez - Académie de France à Madrid.
