Madrid Process 12: open calls for projects in Berlin and Madrid

The Associated Visual Artists of Madrid (AVAM) has announced a competition with two categories to select four artistic projects for inclusion in the Madrid Process 12 programme.

Category 1: Madrid Process 12 - Madrid

This category will see the selection of two artistic projects to be produced principally with existing resources in the Madrid Region during a period of approximately four months (July - October 2012).

Projects may be submitted, individually or collectively, by artists of any nationality, regardless of age. €5,000 will be provided (taxable) for the following: materials, lodging, travel, insurance, production fees, royalties and other expenses resulting from the production of the project.

Category 2: Madrid Process 12 - Berlin

Two art projects will be selected for total or partial production in residence at the Karl Hofer Society of the Circle of Friends of the University of the Arts in Berlin during an exact period of two months (August 1st – September 30th, 2012).

Projects may be submitted individually by artists of any nationality, regardless of age, who have more than five years' professional experience as artists. Applicants must be locals or residents in the community of Madrid in 2012 who want to temporarily concentrate their production in the city of Berlin, and who have some communication skills in English and/or German.

The Karl Hofer Society residential center for artistic production houses fourteen studios on its premises, which are occupied by national and international artists from the Berlin art scene. The selected artists of this call will take part in events and activities with the Karl Hofer Society.

The selected projects will be provided with:

Flight expenses.
Accommodation and studio in Berlin at the Karl Hofer Society Artists' Studios.
€3,000 (taxable) for the following: materials, local travel, maintenance and work production fees.
Tutoring from Marisa Maza, bilingual visual artist (Spanish-German) with international experience, living in Berlin, and designated by AVAM.
Presentation of the project in an international context in Berlin, under the conditions determined by AVAM in accordance with the Karl Hofer Society.

AIR ARRAY: Meeting of AIR Programmes and Mobility Workshop for Artists

Art Motile and Matadero Madrid present AIR ARRAY, a three-day event focused on artist in residence programmes and artist mobility. The event consists of two main activities: a two-day meeting for AIR programmes and a half-day mobility workshop for artists. The event will take place on the 9th, 10th and 11th of March 2015 at Matadero Madrid and Casa de Velázquez - Académie de France à Madrid.
