Programme of creative stays in Movic Hostels for young artists

Movic Hostels is a creative program enabling young artists to stay in residence at different hostels around Spain, promoted by the Spanish network of youth hostels (REAJ) in collaboration with the various Autonomous Communities of Spain.

Hostels Movic project is a multi-disciplinary city-based art project. During each fifteen-day stay, eight selected artists will design and implement a project to create in situ a collaborative artwork in the environment of the selected shelter in the network.

The call is aimed at young (under 35) visual artists who are Spanish nationals or residents in Spain. 32 artists will be selected to be involved in these multi-disciplinary projects in the hostels of four cities around the country.

The programme will cover travel, accommodation and maintenance costs of the artists for the fifteen days of residence, as well as production costs, not exceeding the sum of €6,000 per city.

The selection of candidates will be conducted by a committee from REAJ composed of one representative from each of the administration's consortium, advised by experts in different areas of creation.

AIR ARRAY: Meeting of AIR Programmes and Mobility Workshop for Artists


Art Motile and Matadero Madrid present AIR ARRAY, a three-day event focused on artist in residence programmes and artist mobility. The event consists of two main activities: a two-day meeting for AIR programmes and a half-day mobility workshop for artists. The event will take place on the 9th, 10th and 11th of March 2015 at Matadero Madrid and Casa de Velázquez - Académie de France à Madrid.
