The AlhóndigaKomik culture center in Bilbao (Spain) aims to promote the creation and development of new talent in the field of comics. To this effect, it has announced the fifth edition of its scholarship programme to fund a project selected for its artistic value ​​and innovation.

The chosen entrant will be awarded a fellowship at La Maison des Auteurs in Angoulême, France, which is a member of the International Comic City (Cité Internationale de la Bande Dessinée et de l’image) and offers facilities such as a museum, library and specialised bookstore, movies, etc.

The programme provides:

• free accommodation in a single apartment for up to twelve months (utilities/bills paid by the grantee);
• an individual or group work space with the material needed to create images;
• access to equipment and all services at La Maison des Auteurs, including common areas such as a computer room, documentation room, exhibition hall and conferences, etc.;
• €1,000 per month for up to one year.

April 1st 2012.

AIR ARRAY: Meeting of AIR Programmes and Mobility Workshop for Artists


Art Motile and Matadero Madrid present AIR ARRAY, a three-day event focused on artist in residence programmes and artist mobility. The event consists of two main activities: a two-day meeting for AIR programmes and a half-day mobility workshop for artists. The event will take place on the 9th, 10th and 11th of March 2015 at Matadero Madrid and Casa de Velázquez - Académie de France à Madrid.
