MAEC AECID scholarship programme for expansion of artistic studies at the Academy of Spain in Rome

The annual call for applications to the Scholarship Program for further artistic studies at the Academy of Spain in Rome has been announced.

The programme is run in collaboration with the Rafael del Pino Foundation with the goal of encouraging education in the arts and humanities for Spanish and Latin American creators, restorers and researchers. The programme also aims to achieve a greater presence of Spanish culture in Italy, a better understanding of both cultures in both countries and a greater cultural link between Europe and Latin America.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation in Spain (MAEC) and the Spanish Agency for International Cooperation and Development (AECID) will award grants in the following categories:

Sculpture; painting; photography; video; film; engraving; design; fashion design; graphic design; internet art; architecture; music and musicology; performing arts; literature (Valle Scholarship); comic art; aesthetics: theory, philosophy and art criticism; museology and curating.

In collaboration with the Rafael del Pino Foundation, grants will also be available in the category of Architecture in Restoration of Artistic and Cultural Heritage.

Grants are held once a year by open call, which is published in the Official Gazette at www.boe.es.Applications are accepted from Spanish and Latin American students.

AIR ARRAY: Meeting of AIR Programmes and Mobility Workshop for Artists


Art Motile and Matadero Madrid present AIR ARRAY, a three-day event focused on artist in residence programmes and artist mobility. The event consists of two main activities: a two-day meeting for AIR programmes and a half-day mobility workshop for artists. The event will take place on the 9th, 10th and 11th of March 2015 at Matadero Madrid and Casa de Velázquez - Académie de France à Madrid.
