ABOUT THE RESIDENCY:

Pinotxo is Sant Andreu Contemporani's artist in residence program. It offers, for a period of between six months to a year, access to a studio allowing artists to have a regular place to work while constructing a continuous rapport with the curatorial team at Sant Andreu Contemporani. The programme was set up by Sant Andreu Contemporani in close relationship with the Fàbrica de Creació Fabra i Coats.

Sant Andreu Contemporani is a public platform dedicated to upcoming and emerging art from the district of Sant Andreu and the city of Barcelona. There is a national open call for young artists, a yearly program that issues a prize for a completed work, and a grant for a production proposal. The program is built around the Miquel Casablancas Visual Arts Award which gives shape to an array of activities, from educational to career oriented, while increasing awareness about emerging art practices through exhibitions, workshops, educational projects, lectures, and numerous other events.

At present, Pinotxo is waiting to relaunch its artist in residence program at the refurbished spaces of the Fàbrica de Creació Fabra i Coats. This will represent a new chapter of activities that will be expanded to Spanish and international artists as well.
