ABOUT THE RESIDENCY:

Homesession is an artist-in-residence programme for artists and art professionals who want to develop their art research or production projects in Barcelona. Located in the city's bustling and dynamic neighbourhood of Poble Sec, it is especially aimed at emerging artists, the programme hosts about six artists and curators each year from all over the world.

The purpose of the residency is to bring about a real integration of the artist in residence with the local art scene and life. In order to do this, the programme provides a flat with a working space and organises meetings with Homesession’s curators to provide an individually-tailored residency.

FACILITIES:

Homesession Studio space includes both a residency and a gallery. The gallery’s programme can host exhibitions by the artists in residence but also by local artists selected by Homesession’s curators.

Accommodation: An 18m² apartment with a private bedroom with a double bed; a private working space, including living room, private bathroom and a shared kitchen with the gallery space. The programme hosts only one artist at a time.

Studios: The artist in residence has a private working space in the living room of the residency and can also use one of the tables of Homesession’s office in the gallery space.

Access / Artists with families: The facilities at Homesession are not suitable for those with reduced mobility, but the programme does welcome artists travelling with their partners.
