ABOUT THE RESIDENCY:

tallerBDN is an non-profit organisation dedicated to supporting creation, production and dissemination in the field of contemporary sculpture. The project is situated in a warehouse belonging to the city of Badalona. Taller BDN has two functions:

It provides space, equipment and infrastructure for the production of three-dimensional art.
It provides news related to sculpture through its website.

LOCATION:

tallerBDN is located in the centre of Badalona, easily accessible from Barcelona by motorway (exit C31 Badalona Nord), metro (Line 2: Pompeu Fabra) and train (Badalona).

FACILITIES:

Accommodation: Not offered.

Studios: The building has 650m² divided into two bright and airy floors, and offers 12 spaces of 37m² each for individual or shared workshops. The upper floor includes:

Six individual studios equipped with desk, closet, sink;
Meeting room with library specialised in sculpture;
Fully equipped kitchen/dining room;
Changing room and bathroom.

The ground floor includes:

Machinery divided among the six spaces of the floor;
A multi-purpose lecture room;
Bathroom.

tallerBDN is especially equipped for woodworking and offer advice to residents who require it.

Access / Artists with families: The ground floor is accessible for people with reduced mobility. Artists travelling with families are advised to contact the residency programme directly.

STAYING THERE:

Duration of stays: Six months on the upper floor. The duration for residencies on the ground floor needs to be agreed on a case-by-case basis.

Cost: Check the price list on the programme's website (from €110 per month).

Grants: None.

Selection Procedure: By open call according to availability. Candidates should send by e- mail the description of the project they want to develop and specify the technical needs. The selection committee is composed by members of the tallerBDN team and they chose the artists according to the quality of their proposal and its adequacy to the facilities at the centre. Resident artists must include the logo of the workshop when they exhibit the work done during their residency.

Languages: Catalan, Spanish and English.
