ABOUT THE RESIDENCY:

BaumannLab is a centre for creation set up by the Youth and Leisure Service of the City Council of Terrassa. It focuses on producing and supporting artistic creation of multi-disciplinary activities, in particular visual arts and contemporary thought.

BaumannLab provides support to emerging artists and cultural producers who want to develop or disseminate a project, helping them in their professional practice and training process, while making available to all young people the possibility of establishing a relationship with art which goes beyond passive consumption.

BaumannLab was established with a clear set of criteria for its activities:

To encourage the development of critical thinking in children and young people through artistic practices;

To promote the visibility of young people and their vision of the world to the citizens of Terrassa;

To provide training for and encourage professionalism in young artists;

To strengthen research and artistic production;

To promote the production of collective creative projects through the establishment of a network among institutions, organisations, groups and others with goals in common with those of Baumannlab, and also through work with programmes from the Youth Service.

Open to the general public, BaumannLab welcomes young artists and creators, as well as organisations that work with young people.
