ABOUT THE RESIDENCY:

Cal Gras is a cultural hostel in Avinyó, a quiet rural village with a population of 2,000 in the province of Barcelona. Although the centre operates as a hostel, its focus isn't tourist accommodation but rather artistic and cultural activities.

A non-profit association oversees Cal Gras and organises various public cultural activities in its different spaces, including debates, exhibitions, performances, music concerts, workshops, cultural activities, and more.

Cal Gras pays special attention to the interaction between visiting residents and the region; to cultural dialogue and exchange within the different social communities; and the strengthening of the region's cultural network. The artists in residence can take part in the usual activities of Cal Gras or propose new ones.

FACILITIES:

In addition to accommodation and two studios, Cal Gras has a 45m² meeting room, a 60m² library, and a 60m² multi-purpose room. The centre puts artists in contact with local suppliers for research and development, and will help with project planning when necessary.
